Experience Twilight

Have you ever thought what would happen to your little home town if one day the film crew would come and set a whole movie there?
First it would give your town lots of extra money - the film-guys also got to eat and sleep somewhere, you know. Plus different and unpredictable things which they may need including extra people for a background, who are also payed. And when all this circus will leave the town the place will get back to its same life for a six months or so until the movie will be edited and released.

After... depending on how well it would do in its screening in cinema, you can expect first shy group of fans. They would stray along the streets looking for the right spots to worship, asking here and there. Once they figured it out, wait for more! If you are a bit of a businessman you should rapidly get an infrastructure ready. Walking tours, souvenir shops or a visitor center for fans would do!

One of this originally small and kind of regular town we have visited. Introducing you to St.Helens, state of Oregon. In last 3 years tonnes of "Twilight" movie fans have been hitting the roads regulary here.

At 251 South 1st St, St Helens is the place where Bella (the main charachter) and her girlfriends were trying on Prom dresses. It is originally a beauty salon and the lady who owns it is very friendly and lets fans to enter and take pictures. Though she would prefer you to have a haircut better. She said that the first owner in 2008 even appeared in a movie as an extra in some "bench scene" in Twilight movie.

At 330 South 1st St, St Helens - that would be actually the restaurant "Bella Italia" where Bella and Edward were having thier first date. It is not a restaurant though and it's entrance isn't decorated as in the movie eather. But you should know that set managers could do miracals with whatever.

At 184 South 6th St, St Helens - at last is Charlie Swan's House (Bella's dad). It is pretty much as in the movie. And as you aproach it you see the note on the tree reminding you that this is a private property and you are allowed to take a picture only from the road. Guess that isn't  easy to live there now, but the guy inside seem to manage okay).

And in the end we went to this souvenir shop. It had some trinkets with wolves handmade by guys from original Forks in Washington state (where according to the book the action has taken place). Plus we looked through some T-shirts with such notes as "Edward team" and so there. Not too much of a choice. Seems they will wait for the last movie to come out this November and will shut it down. So hurry up)
