Do you know how to Park?

New York City Parks... are here for your body and soul to be safely and soundly parked for those summer months. Even though they say that New York was built to make a buck, there are other "means of greens" which define this busy city's face. And these are its parks. They can seduce anyone, really. No matter who you are, what you do, how you look they get their searching roots to your heart and will bloom on it till the end of eternity...
But if you happen to be unaware of such danger let us give you a quick guide on your hot-five-spots:

1. High Line Park. Imagine rusty forgotten-by-everyone railroad after thirty years of being buried in oblivion, gets its vibrant spirit back! Completely opened in 2011 High Line is the youngest park on Manhattan. It is about 10 meters wide and 19 city blocks long. It takes a good lazy hour to stroll along and seat on every inviting arty bench. Come here to see the most modern landscape designing and urban space organizing sample.

2. Battery Park. It is gracefully crowning the tip of the Manhattan Island. With the World's most scenic city line on its back it is small and charming. Battery Park is a home-port for $17 Statue of Liberty Ferry tour, free Long Island Ferry ride and free Governor Island Ferry weekend trip. It has free classes on drawing on Wednesdays and Fridays opened for you during the lunch hour and much, much more.

3. Prospect Park. It is the only Brooklyn park in the list. Prospect Park is designed by the Central Park's designers. Though this one was planned to be a bit wilder, a bit more free-growing in a way. It is easy to mistake with a real forest from time to time. Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the Zoo, Boathouse, all-kinds of sports fields are open for public in this enormously sized green-area. Make sure to stop by the Bandshell where they have "Celebrate Brooklyn" a fantastic music festival for suggested donation of $3 almost every single day at 7pm.

4. Central Park. It is hands off the most known and recognised park on the planet! Curly paths will present you the most memorable promenades. Even if you wonder there for the first time in your life every spot will seem to be familiar. Why? Because it is one on of the most beloved location for New York movie-makers! The Zoo you saw in Madagascar (2005) cartoon, the Belvedere castle in Stepmom (1998), Ice-skating rink in Serendipity (2001) and bridges... they are just everywhere! Start with Bank Rock and Bow Bridges they are simply a piece of magic. As for activities it is hard even to start. Life concerts of NYC Philharmonic and many music bands, bike and horse-carriage rentals, free public pool and Shakespeare performance just to name a very few among all the things to do here.

5. Bryant Park. It is a personal favorite park! It is only 20 years old. And it has got the hottest spot in the city. Find the 42nd street on your map first, now search for the tiny green spot between Times Square and Grand Central Station... Yes! Right on the back of famous New York Public Library you will find it - Bryant Park. It is a home for free yoga classes, 7.30 am Tai Chi practice, free Launch Foreign language classes, open air newspaper, books and magazines open access, all kinds of workshops, talks, trainings plus it has got the life piano music almost every afternoon! Come here on Monday at 8pm and you will have a chance to stretch on the lawn while watching the one of HBO picked movies under the open sky of stars and of city-lights.
