Are you a GREEN-go too?

Greener and greener an American go... With years it is become more and more trendy to care for your planet. In a good sense. It is nice.

It is everywhere. You go shopping for dinner. All those show-cases' around you are labeled with the rates from 1 to 5 grading the amount of humanity with which your future stake has been treated before it had become one. The highest grade would be given to the meat, which:

- have lived for its life at the same farm (no experience of transportation stress)
- have eaten just a fresh grass (no chemicals involved)
- have never been cut in any parts off while alive (ears, legs even horns).

"100% grass fed" - the label above the row of bright pink pork parts. You buy i and three hours later you feel simply happier for this piece of piglet at your plate. That peace in minds helps to digest things better too.

Some people go further. They decide don't eat meat at all. That is called vegetarian. Why do it? Because "there is not enough meat for everyone on the planet", "because of animal rights" and finally it comes - "it feels good".

That was a BBQ party in Brooklyn last week. We were discussing food there. And a big, smart and very nice in all senses guy was saying: "You know, I love meat. All those kinds of it, the color, the smell.. just mouth-watering!.. But you eat your burger and after two hours you feel broken and stuff! You want to sleep, you don't wonna move... And on the other side you eat only this spinach and you got all this energy, just like a superman!".

Anyways... whether you are a vegetarian or you are a meat lover, if you want maximum from your food, you have got to learn this word - nutrition. Where nutrition if simply is all vitamins, minerals and fibres in the product. And the more you get it per calorie, better for you. This figure would be called ANDI (Aggregate Nutrient Density Index). And let me tell you that the kale has 1000 ANDI-points, when your soda-drink scores only 1 of those. Go figure!

  1. In Russia the USA is often associated with the fast food. Even it is supposed that the USA is the fast food motherland. What food is more popular — a hamburger made of cholesterol or the pork made of a pig which lived at its own farm and died a natural death in the family circle?

  2. That is right the USA is a motherland for a burger. According to our American friends an average American would get a burger. But it is depends of couse on the family and thier income. Though the middle class prefers to buy healthier food and cook it home.
